The busier I get with blogging, the less time I find to blog on here. Classic good news, bad news combination.
So here’s a quick recap of the articles I wrote, on other blogs, in recent weeks.
- I consider the New York Times paywall doomed to fail. Especially after reading some numbers in the Financial Times, I was motivated to point out why the NYT paywall business model is flawed.
- As a DJ, music biz 2.0 consultant and music lover, I see a lot of great and terrible ways in which artists deal with their fans. I decided to highlight some of the best ways in which DJs/producers connect with fans, so others might learn from them.
- Recently a Dutch chief of police suggested extending the DNA-database to include all Dutch citizens. Obviously this created some outrage and I decided to pour a little of my own thoughts out too.
- I decided that besides case-studies, I can also offer more practical ‘marketing’ advice to bands and artists. I’ll be regularly writing articles like this; the first one’s five ways in which you can improve your connection with your fans immediately.
- Last week I got hired by music-tech startup official.fm, so I wrote some articles about ways in which their platform can be used through embedded players or the way fashion and music-label Kitsuné is doing it.
- Public release of my thesis coming soon! It is currently being redesigned by VirtualMusic.TV‘s Ryan Van Etten.
