Right down Istanbul’s European and Asian side, runs the Bosphorus, which connects the Mediteraenean and the Black Sea. As I recently had a job on the European side, but live on the Asian side, I was crossing the Bosphorus a few times per week. The best way to see Istanbul is from the water, but what’s also great about these boatrides is the birds that accompany your boat. I tried to capture this in the video below and hope I succeeded. 🙂

I can say that taking that boat ride to get to a job (even if only for a bit) is much more interesting than the drive I have to get to work!
Thanks for posting.

my husband and I are going to Istanbul in October. Please suggest the things that we should see while we are there. My husband speaks Turkish also. I like your video of the birds. But is the trip on the Bosphorus an extroadinary experience or just okay?
To me it was extraordinary, so that’s a must. Both during the day and during the night.
As for things you definitely have to see… Just take a tourist map and see the main sights. The only thing that’s not ‘listed’ that you should definitely do is a trip down the Bosphorus.
